Pin Me!

A friend of the store (and of our friend Max) Jay is the epitome of a modern renaissance man. He spends his time being a husband, father, photographer, author, a style guru, and in his spare time works at Apple. His taste is as cutting edge as his technology knowledge, so we’re happy to share him on the blog today. Brides take note- he and Rosewood Visuals business partner  are killer wedding photographers. Here’s what he can’t live without

1. iPhone
Like most people I always have mine with me. I’ve worked on and off for Apple since before the first iPhone in 2007 and have seen first hand how it’s changed the world. It has helped me see and experience the word differently. I’ve carried it in 7 countries, 37 states and taken over 15,000 photos with it.

2. Instagram
This ties directly into number one. I believe it’s the most powerful social tool ever created. I’ve met so many amazing people and get inspired daily. @jaygullion

3. Northstar Cafe
Other than the fact I eat there at least twice a week, one breakfast and one lunch/dinner, it’s no secret to those who know me it’s my favorite place to eat in Columbus. At this point the Easton location had turned into my own personal Cheers.

4. Alden boots
I have a what you could call a large collection of boots (my wife can attest to that) but there is one brand I cherish the most, Alden. I have two pairs and wear them more than any other shoes I own. Year round in any weather. Besides, one pair is the exact same boot as those worn by Harrison Ford in the original Indiana Jones trilogy.

5. Chambray shirt
At anytime I have about 15 chambray shirts I wear regularly. Not sure where this love came from over the years, I would like to think its a classic Americana feel that is timeless.  If I had to pick a favorite, it’s my Gitman Bros. Vintage classic chambray.

6. Seinfeld
Greatest sitcom of all time and always will be. It’s the definition of timeless. It’s humor and subject matter is cross generational. There’s very few days I don’t watch at least one episode.

7. Dunkin Donuts coffee
No offense to Starbucks, but they can’t even compare to the classic Dunkin roast. It’s my favorite coffee to drink at home and on the road. It’s fate that I’ve lived by one my last two residences in Columbus.

8. My multiple projects
Currently I work for Apple, am a wedding photographer (www.rosewood-visuals.com), own a magazine (www.collectivequarterly.com), and run a men’s travel and style blog (www.thecovetedman.com). Not to mention my biggest project to date I can’t even speak about yet due to an NDA. Life is short and God gives you passions, if you don’t follow them everyday then life will never be fulfilling.

9. Fall
Like most Midwesterners, fall is the best time of the year. I literally look forward to it all year. The time from mid September to end of November is the reason I’ll always live in the Midwest. Visually it’s breathtaking, the weather is just right, and there is nothing I love wearing more than tees and layers.

10. My three ladies
Lastly, and most importantly, I couldn’t live without the three ladies in my life. My beautiful wife Laura, and my two daughters Avi Lucia and Sophia Adelyn. Life wouldn’t be complete or worth living without them.
